Dancers evolve, alone or in groups, locked in transparent boxes. Their movements, captured by each of the boxes according to different systems, generate video images, light and sound, which reflect their imagination.
These boxes symbolise small worlds with different borders, whose inhabitants are locked up, echoing the confinements we have just experienced and the notion of border, which distances us at the same time as it connects us to the world, with which we collectively share this experience.
This performance is the work of an interdisciplinary and international group composed of students in architecture (Leipzig), interactive techniques (Bucharest), light control for the show and dance and theatre (Lyon). Out of the box is the result of the crossing of their respective skills in a European collaboration project.
Established in Lyon for more than 10 years, the Platform for Young Franco-German Creation aims to forge close links between young artists from France, Germany and, more generally, Europe. In this context, she organises and coordinates a university project around Franco-German light creations with complementary courses. In 2018, this exchange expanded to a third country, Romania.
