CORINA TATE
Dancer
Corina was born in Corrientes province, Argentina.
Passionate about classical dance, at the age of 11, she decided to train as a professional dancer at the Institut Supérieur d'Art du Théâtre Colon in Buenos Aires. In 2004, she discovered the Graham Technique thanks to her master Freddy Romero (Alvin Ailey Dance Company), who then paved the way for contemporary dance. After several years of training at the University of San Martin in Buenos Aires, she graduated in Contemporary Dance in 2014.
In 2017, she received the PIME-UNSAM grant which allowed her to carry out her graduation project in the Netherlands, Switzerland and Italy with choreographers Ivan Perez Aviles (Compagnie INNE, Dance Theatre Heidelberg), Nicole Seiler (Cie Nicole Seiler) with the intention of doing research on stage creation and artistic practices in public spaces. Following this project, she created her first performance "Augenblick", which allowed her to obtain her Bachelor's Degree in Performing Arts.
Corina started working at the age of 20 with professional companies, including Mauro Cacciatore's Cie Event Project and the Compagnie de Danza Contemporaine under the direction of choreographer Oscar Araiz.
With the intention of continuing to grow personally and professionally, she moved to France in July 2018 where she gave courses in contemporary dance, floor bar and Pilates in various associations. From 2020 she collaborates as a dancer with the Compagnie Corps au Bord directed by Natacha Paquignon in Lyon. In 2021 she participated with the Willi Dorner Company in the performance Bodies in Urban Spaces. In 2021, with a group of musicians, dancers, architects and photographers, she created the Collectif Près du Feu, in order to find a common expressive language that preserves the multidisciplinary spirit.
