SIMON JURINE
Composer – Musician – Sound Technician
Simon Jurine graduated from the first cycle of Saxophone studies at the Conservatoire de musique de Saint-Etienne in the early 2000s.
He continues to learn guitar and piano in a self-taught way to create the trio Pratos (2014-2020), a formation evolving in an instrumental and psychedelic rock register. In parallel, he administers and participates in the development of the MisèreRecords collective (2016-2020), in partnership with the groups Ashinoa, Abschaum and Serge, with krautrock, electronica and experimental aesthetics.
At the same time, he continues a musical research work intended to immerse the listener in a coherent, psychedelic sound environment crossing good riffs and good groove reminiscent of the French prog-kraut of the 60-70's. This quest for complementarity of the instrumental material integrated with abstract analogue and algorithmic creative modulations translates into polymorphic and borderless music, developed under the pseudonym Apophénie and the first eponymous album Apophenia was released digitally on January 1, 2023.
Carried by values of openness and sharing, his transcendental music "without words" communicates directly through a universal sound language. Music as a necessity. Music as a cultural identity. Music as a source of dialogue, exchanges and inspiration.
